Traditional Oriental

Hot Stone Therapy

About:

The hot stones are usually made of basalt, a type of rock that is rich in iron, so they retain heat.  River rocks are normally used because they have been smoothed over time. The stones are immersed in water and heated until they are within a certain temperature range.

The stones may be placed at specific points on the back, in the palms of the hand, and other areas. You will learn to use heated smooth, flat stones on key points of the body as well as using them for massage of various areas. The heat warms and relaxes the muscles, which allows you to apply deeper pressure, if desired. The warmth of the hot stones also improves circulation and calms the nervous system.

Included on the standard course:

  • Use of hot stones on micro-systems on the body

  • Meridian theory

  • Use of basic Acupuncture points with hot stones

  • Fertility and other standard oriental protocols
